News 2 came to our neighborhood this afternoon. We want to thank all of our neighbors who came out in the cold to support us. We also want to thank News 2 for listening.
Today is January 27, 2008, turn to News 2 tonight at 11:00 pm and hear what we have to say. I understand that it will air again during the Good Morning Show from 5:00 to 8:00 am but we don't know when.
We would also like to invite all those who are opposed to this development to join us for the City Council meeting on February 5, 2008.

Time Warner Cable News 14 (cable channel 14) had a really good piece on this same rezoning on Friday Jan 25th. If you google "Zoning laws are supposed to protect the homeowners", you will go right to the story. It speaks for itself. This is another case of the City Council making a self serving decision for Commissioner Mike Winstead's proposed Maga Builders project that involves property owned by Commissioner Linda Shaw and retired Senator Bob Shaw. With all of these political people involved, and all of the development ties certain City Council members have, how can they claim to be making a fair and impartial decision??? I think it's time the FOX stops watching the HEN HOUSE at innocent citizen's expense. Most of us work all our lives to pay for our homes. Why should the city council get away with endangering the values of our homes??? I think we should all show up at the council meeting on Feb 5th, at 5:30PM at 300 W. Washington Street in support of these residents. If this keeps up uncontested, who knows which neighborhood will be next?? Lets let our VOICES be HEARD. If not, we'd better all get second jobs to secure our retirement, because our homes will not be keeping their values thanks to certain elected officials NOT concerned about the citizens that elected them in the first place!
